What are the technical characteristics of microcement?
The Pavicon microcement is cementitious and polymeric coating of only 2-3mm. between the whole system of thickness due to its low thickness and high resistance layer is used for the renovation of space, saving time and money because it does not require removing the existing material, composed of two layers or thick base microcemento two or three more fine finish lacquer. (this last coat of lacquer is 100% waterproof, and hydrochloric acid resistant)
Can I coat tiles with microcement?
Yes, thanks to its spectacular grip, the BCP microcement can be apply on any stable surface, including slippery surfaces like mirrors. By not having to remove the existing material can achieve a rapid turnover of spaces, saving time and money. Only we will consider correcting grouting mortar tile of our brand, to avoid marks once we finish the application.
BCP microcement is applicable to stairs?
Yes, it can be applied without any problem on stairs, and leaving both edges bevelled edge and in vivo. The versatility of the product is such that it can even be applied to furniture. On stairs there should be a metal or kerbstones which may be internal, embedded in the mortar base, or external and decorative detail. Can be apply without mesh even on stairs.
Is it possible applied microcement on wooden floors and parquet?
The wooden floors are not sufficiently rigid and have many moving joints, why they are only able to apply them directly on BCP microcemento with mortar BCP checker supports previous AGMA diluted CH primer as described in application step by step.
Can be applied on gypsum or plasterboard microcement?
Yes surfaces finished with plaster or plasterboard are appropriate to apply microcemento as even reduce the time of application of the product, but for the case of gypsum, you will need to apply two or three coats of resin diluted with CH AGMA drinking water, so in this way we enhance the surface.
Is it possible applied in the same surface diferents colours?
Yes, it is quite customizable and can be combined, to get the colour or colours desired, even reflections and other effects. The material allows you to choose the colours to the surface as well as create the shapes and designs you want. With microcement there is not limits, you can chose the colour you want to put on the floor, walls, pools, stais, furniture, etc..
How many colors are available in microcement?
Microcement is available immediately in 60 standard colours, please check colour chart, as well we can make unlimited colours according to the customer’s needs.
How do I clean the microcement?
Maintenance is carried out by washing with soap and clean water, to preserve the shine as long as possible, but you can use ammonia, bleach even hydrochloric acid. It is important that before hiring an application to leave them a sample to verify that is resistant to acids and of course to the permeability because not all brands of microcemento are the same quality.
Periodically we recommend applying wax shine diluted in water as these leave a residue that renews acrylic protective layer of surface. For this maintenance is not necessary to use any equipment, can be applied with mop. The frequency will depend on usage, but is the same as used for clean any surface.
Application
How do I apply the microcement?
microcemento it´s applies the traditional way, by hand and trowel. Not require heavy machinery, is particularly suited to be placed in any type of work, house, warehouse, offices, pools, …
What if the surface on which I want to apply the microcement has damp?
The microcemento is suitable to be placed in kitchens and bathrooms and even shower enclosures or as a coating for baths and pools. If damp comes from the surface, it is essential to treat the base dilute with AGMA CH and CORRECTOR MORTAR and if necessary use CIDEX 0179 for the surface on which it is applied, must be perfectly dry and ensure that damp does not appear in the future.
Is it possible applied microcement on a damage surface, without removing?
Yes, microcemento is especially suitable for this type of work and is not necessarily to remove the existing pavement. With only 2 mm. thick, does not significantly alter the height. In case of suspicion of the pavement, always apply a few layers of mortar CORRECTOR, the first diluted between 40 and 50% with the second resin and trowel can be given to gain resistance to compression so that the mixture should be of be between 30and 35% of the resin.
In case of reform works, What I have to follow to applied microcement on existing surface?
Is usually enough to make a good cleaning on the surface and directly apply microcemento, whatever the surface is.
In case of made hole runs to add tubes or pipes, just fill up the runs with superdeformable SPECIAL. In this case, is appropriate to use repair mortars as the MR NORMAL or similar, or we can use ESPECIAL, we apply a layer of mortar CORRECTOR.
In case of a new work, what is the most appropriate material, to apply microcement on it?
Due to the ability of microcement adhere to any surface, the only requirements are stiff base, flatness and free of cracks. Check the level of porosity, used AGMA CH diluted with clean water, depend of the porosity of the surface. Recommended 1L of AGMA CH with 3 of water.
If the case is applying on the gres tiles o porcelanic tiles, apply one layer ofCORRECTOR MORTAR.
When is the optimal time to reach its maximum hardness?
The speed and ease of the application is one of the most significant advantages, once is applied the microcement, the surface can take total transit day after completion of application. But its optimum hardness is 95% after 7 days.
Is it right or possible to apply only one coat of microcement?
It is possible but is not recommended. It is designed to apply thin layers, one is dry and set the hardness is extreme.
Applying multiple layers especially in the fine microcement facilitates the tracing of lines with the trowel finally we get a decorative finish.
If we apply a single layer thick yet it can lead to several problems:
-If the base is too absorbent material could dehydrate faster than it should be so can happen risk of cracking.
-If to understand why you should not apply a single layer, if used to wet the surface simplycould clearly (spectrum) based surfaces like a wall of mortar lucida blocks after rain is involved. If this lucid example of the blocks and the mortar was given at least two hands, after rain clarearían not the classic joints that normally blocks all we have ever seen. (That's why we add also the mortar because lucid monolayers must make two hands)
-If you make a single hand, when the polished, you may experience a significant risk to the next polished over the years to leave the base surface.
Making several hands, especially in the case of large surfaces, after each hand is a brief polished or sanded floor, so we got to give the soil a perfect flatness.
We recommend giving two layers of thick and two or max. three fine, but never one hand it will be advisable for this reason auque if you can give one thick and one thin.
We could give two fine solo on a support coated microcemento but is intended as a color change, so we could put in pure CH AGMA and varnish without sanding first, provided that the wax can take two hands.
Maintenance
Does microcement scratch?
The microcemento is a material, extremely hard. Because of its high additive content but their resinous coating. If it is true that the microcemento not like the park, this is easily scratched if you walk in high heels because the heel can be marked and every time you wear makes a significant buff.
The BCP microcemento is comparable to marble, terrazzo, ... they are also extremely hard, but eventually, surface waxes may have lost its luster, the grit and dirt to rub the sole of the shoe, pull a chair, drag a box or by the mere fact of over time could be "tarnished" over the years.
The advantage of the microcemento on marble, parquet and even on the tile, is that in the case of over the years we had some "bottom" caused by a fall from a screwdriver tip, hitting with dishes, .. . Is that the microcemento, with a little pasta in the same tone (reference or RAL), as if it were putty mode, repaired the damage and no more.
In the case of tile, to repair these trails, you would have to work, replace the tile, if we find parts and if not ask the manufacturer if you have or if it matches the tone depending on the batch. In the case of marble, would like to do work, but if we have stored marble model in question, being a natural stone, lack the betas are similar, otherwise they would be a patch. Marble can be polished and polished parquet as to conceal the sting, but to the light would collapse like a car dent is involved.
BRIEFLY: Returning to microcemento and making it clear whether the ease of repair of any type of chopped, over the years, and only when the surface looks dull, it may suffice to PAVILAC DUR varnish the surface (just like any dirty wall by rubbing your hands around outlets, or aging itself ....)
As if any marble surface, is involved with all the harshness that is known of this stone, as if any residents' landing is involved, depend where the microcement is after a long time, make a small review of the pitting potential as a filler, then a pavilac painted and polished if deemed appropriate. May be sufficient for a simple waxing.
How is the maintenance of the surface once we apply microcement?
The maintenance is done microcemento by washing with soap and water, our microcemento resists bleach, ammonia and hydrochloric acid. Periodically we recommend applying gloss waxes diluted in water, since they leave a residue that renews acrylic protective layer of soil.
For this maintenance is not necessary to use any equipment as all these products can be applied with a simple mop or mop.
The frequency will depend on usage, but is the same as used for clean any soil.
The coating or polishing of the surface applied microcemento be made only when the soil by the wear and tear look dull, like a marble or terrazzo floor, is involved in the case of an area can be busy at some half or more years and in particular areas can be treated after several years or a decade. Understand that materials are manufactured for high performance.
Are there any special recommendations for areas with heavy traffic?
The microcemento is ideal for high traffic areas due to its strength and durability.
Basic recommendation is to use DUR PAVILAC lacquered or use any of our micro-concrete application is the same but reduces layer three in total and respecting the finished thickness of 2 mm aggregates and resins are different so that this set gives us a even higher resistance to withstand industrial traffic.
The fact that does not require joins the microcement , Does not increase the risk of cracking.
Not at all. Because of its thinness, the high proportion of highly adhesive resins and his crack microcemento not alone in any settlement unless significant construction or expansion.
Say resins expand and contract while the ground in terms of climate can therefore be used even in floor heating.
